In this blog and the video below, I show you the best knitting and crochet sites for free knitting and crochet patterns.
Best Knitting Pattern Websites
Ravelry Free Patterns
Ravelry is a great community for knitters, crocheters and other hobbiests. There is a community element to the site and plenty of free knitting patterns and crochet patterns. I found over THOUSANDS of amazing free patterns, which users can upload themselves, some even have YouTube Tutorials.
Wool and The Gang Patterns
I feel that Wool and The Gang get a bad rep in the knitting world because their kits and yarns are on the pricier side, but from my experience I have always been happy with the kits and products I have purchased. They once even sent me some needles out after I sat on my needle and it broke in half! Their kits are a little pricy but they’re great for beginners and those who want an easy project without the fuss of choosing yarn. Anyway, that isn’t why you’re here. Wool and The Gang’s free patterns are brilliant and easy to follow, I really enjoy their patterns both the ones I have downloaded and purchased. There is plenty of variety and their patterns are very on trend and regularly updated.
Hobbii Free Patterns
There are are some fantastic free patterns on Hobbii for crochet and for knitting. I’m currently making their Copenhagen Sweater and LOVING it. The Yarn, I also purchased from them and it is great quality. They make it easy with their free patterns to find all the different yarns on their website.
Love Craft Knitting Patterns
Love Crafts is another site that also has a nice community element where people upload their various patterns. I found they have a lot for crochet and also free baby knitting patterns.
Hobby Craft Free Knitting Patterns
This one was a surprise on the list but I found some FANTASTIC patterns including a knitted snail pattern that was free to download – which let’s be honest, is amazing.

It is great isn’t it!
Wool Box
The last on the list is Wool Box
Wool Box have a lot of free and affordable patterns. I really like their website and despite my initial shock in the video, it is really easy to use!
That is it for the list, there are so many other resources you can use to find free patterns too including blogs like this one, YouTube Channels and Google!
