Unboxing the Hobbii Knitting Advent Calendar 2024 Review TLYarnCrafts Collab

In the video above, and the blog below. I unbox the Hobbii knitting advent calendar released for 2024 which is a collaboration between TLYarn Crafts & Momma Gwen. note that at the time of posting the patterns have not been released. We do know that the kit does make: a pair of fingerless gloves, a shawl, a scarf and a bag.

Good to know…

It is worth noting what the kit makes: gloves, shawl, scarf and bag.It is done that there is one project a week.

You will need pairs of circular needles in sizes between 3.5mm and 5.5mm (US sizes 4,6,7 and 9).

The total cost of the advent calendar is £84 / $111 full price. At the time of writing. The total cost of the kits, excluding patterns and project bags FULL PRICE is £108.55. Due to Hobbii having the most amazing sales all the time, the rough price as of the 19th September was £76.55.

What is in the advent calendar?

Below is listed and linked to the various products and their alternatives.

The yarn that is the Hobbii Advent Calendar featured you can see here.

Week 1

In week 1 the canvas project bag contains:

As of the 19th September, the full price of the items in the bag is worth £25.25, on sale £15.90.

Week 2

In week 2, there are three items that you will receive.

The full price £26.70, on sale prices of various products are £19.25

Week 3

This had the most value but the least in the project for the week.

  • A water bottle (500ml) which is a hot/cold flask in a lovely burgundy colour. I do really like this but I don’t think its what you expect to get in the Christmas calendar.
  • Divina baby alpaca yarn in colour 4. This is very expensive (full price £12, so it was nice to get to try).

The full price of the contents of week three full price was £34.70, on sale prices available on the 19th September £27.70

Week 4

The final week was the most disappointing for me, but that is mainly because I prefer a thicker cotton yarn to work with and already have an array of the acacia cotton that I haven’t used.

The total price (full) is valued £21.90 but on sale price £13.70.

Whats the verdict?

I think I would have been more satisfied if they released the patterns so you knew what you were getting, totaling the cost, particularly with Hobbii’s good sales they run seems a little disappointing that you’re not saving too much. I hope what Christmas comes and we are week by week making the calendar projects and the knit-alongs make it worth it!

I hope this blog helps you decide if you want to purchase this calendar or the crochet addition. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to do a knit along together for one of these projects!!
