Whilst spending the last few weeks under the weather and with a diagnosis of shingles, its safe to say physically and mentally I have not been feeling my best. So, I have been working on some very simple knitted projects (one of which I hope to eventually record and release a pattern for) which I am going to share with you some ideas for when you’re feeling under the weather or wanting something you can quickly knit up in front of the TV.
A Simple Knitted Scarf

Scarfs are practical and versatile and can vary from being super complex lace patterns to simple garter stitch. You can create rainbow colour changing stripes, use colour changing yarn and more.
Here is the scarf I am currently working on using two yarns knit together, a Merino and Mohair which will match my yellow hat! Pinterest is a good way to get inspiration.
Fingerless gloves
Kate Mittens Wool and The Gang
Fingerless gloves or mittens are a quick and easy way to create a warming project, you could knit them in the round on a short wire or two panels with the sides stitched together. These Kate Mittens are worked in stockinette with a hole made for the thumb by leaving a gap in two stitched panels.

Knitted Dishcloths or Tea Towels
Knitted dish cloths or tea towels are a great and versatile project, allowing you to use your lighter summer-weight yarns such as bamboo and cotton. They’re a great way to use up left over yarn scraps and can be customised to the size, colour and stitch that you want to use. From seed and moss stitch to garter and stockinette – any stitch works. You can also test your duplicating stitch skills and add embroidery if you want too! Love Crafts have a range of free patterns but you can find plenty on YouTube and I will be conjuring one up soon which once live I will pop below for you to watch – yay!
